Why Convert PDFs to Social Media Carousels?
For Educators & Coaches
Turn slide decks, worksheets, and teaching materials into shareable carousel content. Each slide becomes a swipeable post that's far easier to consume than a PDF download link. Share study guides, lesson summaries, and educational infographics directly on Instagram without making your audience download anything.
For Businesses
Repurpose existing presentations, reports, and pitch decks for social media instantly. A 10-slide business deck becomes a carousel that reaches thousands of potential customers — no new design work needed. Share product guides, case studies, and industry insights in a format people actually engage with.
For Content Creators
Design your content in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides, or Canva → export as PDF → convert here in seconds. No manual resizing, no screenshot cropping, no quality loss. Your slides stay pixel-perfect at the exact dimensions each platform expects.
Engagement Benefits
Carousel posts consistently outperform single-image posts. On Instagram, carousels get 3–5× more engagement. On LinkedIn, document posts (carousels) are among the highest-reach formats. Higher engagement signals quality to the algorithm, increasing organic reach without ad spend.
Instagram vs LinkedIn Carousel
| Feature | ||
|---|---|---|
| Best size | 1080×1350px (4:5) | 1080×1080px (1:1) |
| Max slides | 20 images | 300 pages (PDF upload) |
| Best content | Visual, bold, emotional | Educational, data-driven |

💡 LinkedIn accepts PDF uploads directly as native carousels — no image conversion needed for LinkedIn.
Carousel Best Practices
- Hook on slide 1: The first slide determines whether someone swipes. Use a bold headline, a compelling stat, or an intriguing question. You have 1 second to earn the swipe.
- One idea per slide: Dense slides lose mobile viewers instantly. One clear point, one visual, done. If you're trying to say two things, make two slides.
- Use large, readable fonts: Minimum 24pt with high contrast — nearly all carousel views happen on phones, not desktops. If it looks small on your laptop, it's illegible on mobile.
- 5–10 slides is the sweet spot: Enough depth to deliver real value, short enough to keep people swiping all the way through.
- End with a strong CTA: "Save this for later", "Follow for more", "Share with a friend who needs this" — always tell viewers what to do next.
- Design at native size from the start: Build your PDF at 1080×1350 (Instagram) or 1080×1080 (LinkedIn) to eliminate padding entirely.
- Dark backgrounds stand out on LinkedIn: Most LinkedIn content is light — dark-background slides with white text break the pattern and get more attention in the feed.
Common Questions
What does padding color actually do?
When your PDF's aspect ratio doesn't match the target format (e.g. a 16:9 presentation going into Instagram's 4:5 canvas), empty space appears at the top and bottom. The padding color fills that space. Set it to match your slide background and it becomes invisible. Set it to black or a brand color for a deliberate framed look.
Can I use this for LinkedIn carousels?
Yes — select the LinkedIn format for 1080×1080px square images. Note that LinkedIn also accepts PDF uploads directly as native carousels, so you don't always need to convert. But converting to images works across all platforms and gives you more control.
JPG vs PNG — which should I use?
JPG produces smaller files (typically 200–500KB per slide) and is ideal for photo-heavy or gradient-rich presentations. PNG is lossless and produces noticeably sharper results for slides with crisp text, flat colors, or logos. Both are accepted by Instagram and LinkedIn. When in doubt, JPG is the safer default.
Can I convert a PowerPoint or Google Slides file?
This tool works with PDF files. To convert a PowerPoint: open in PowerPoint or Google Slides → File → Export/Download → PDF. Then upload the PDF here. Takes about 30 seconds and produces excellent quality — often better than screenshot-based converters.
What is the maximum PDF size and page limit?
The tool supports PDFs up to 25MB with up to 20 pages, matching Instagram's carousel maximum. If your PDF is larger, try compressing it first using our PDF Compressor, or split the content into multiple posts for a carousel series.
Is my PDF safe and private?
Completely. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never gets uploaded to any server — we literally cannot see your content. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's Network tab and watching zero upload activity while the tool runs.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes — it works on mobile browsers including Safari and Chrome. However, downloading ZIP files works more reliably on desktop. On mobile, use the individual slide download buttons which appear when you hover over each preview card, or in the "Download individually" section.
Will the images lose quality during conversion?
No. The tool renders PDF pages at full output resolution (1080×1350px for Instagram, etc.) and exports as high-quality JPEG at 92% quality, or lossless PNG. Text and images remain crisp and readable. Instagram will apply its own compression when you upload, but your source images will be at the highest possible quality going in.
