Common Questions
How do I convert an iPhone voice memo to MP3?
iPhone voice memos are saved as .m4a files. Share the voice memo from the Voice Memos app to your computer or Files app, then upload it here. Click Convert and download your MP3.
Is my file stored on your server?
No. Your file is uploaded, converted, and the download link is generated β all within seconds. Both the input and output files are deleted from our server immediately after your download completes.
What is M4A and why convert it to MP3?
M4A is Apple's audio format (AAC codec in an MP4 container). While it's high quality, MP3 is universally supported across all devices, platforms, and players β making it the better choice for sharing.
Will I lose quality converting M4A to MP3?
Both M4A and MP3 are lossy formats, so some re-encoding happens. At 192 kbps or above, the difference is virtually undetectable in normal listening. For critical audio work, use 320 kbps.
Does it work with .mp4 files that are audio-only?
Yes. iPhone sometimes saves voice memos with a .mp4 extension. This tool accepts both .m4a and .mp4 audio files and converts them correctly to MP3.
What is the maximum file size?
The tool accepts M4A files up to 100 MB. A typical 10-minute iPhone voice memo is around 10β15 MB, so most recordings are well within the limit.
